I’ve never been prouder of the domain name industry. Over the past week I put out an urgent plea to the domaining community on behalf of the victims of the horrific Australian bush fires. During this time domain owners from around the world have contributed $USD2,950.79! This is an outstanding effort and one that will be really appreciated by those that are desperately in need.
As promised, I asked both my church minister and also Ron Jackson (editor of dnJournal) to verify that all of the funds were transferred from my personal paypal account to my churches “Bush Fire Relief Fund”. Here is what they have to say:
 |
“We’d like to extend our deepest thanks to you and the domaining community for their generous donation of $2,950.79 USD to Bayside’s Bushfire Relief program. The donation will make a significant difference for many people that have been affected by Australia’s worst bush fires. “
Thank you again!
Best regards

“I am happy to confirm that a broad cross-section of caring individuals and companies in the domain industry sent contributions to Michael’s PayPal account and that he in turn has forwarded the full $2,950.79 collected to the Bayside Church for their wildfire relief efforts. I was impressed by how many different people from all corners of the industry opened their hearts and wallets to help comfort people they don’t know personally (especially at a time when the world situation has made things financially uncertain for many of those who gave). Those selfless donors know the truth that Anne Frank conveyed when she wrote “No one has ever become poor by giving.”
Best Wishes

It’s been a tremendous effort and the fact is that the domain community is about to have a huge positive impact on people who are in desperate need. I personally would like to thank everyone who has donated funds in these difficult economic times. I would also like to thank all those that have sent emails and skype messages of support.....they have meant an enormous amount.
