I remember reading that you should treat each day with your wife as though you are still dating her. As time goes by it is very easy to become complacent and take her for granted. You cared enough to want to share your life with this person, so you should act like it is the greatest honor to share everything with her. Women don't always see things the way men do, and we have to be alert to realizing this. I compared arguing withstanding across a fire from your mate with a can of gas, each thinks they can win, but both are wrong. Apologizing is not giving in, it is being understanding that even though you may be right, at what cost is the win if you hurt her feelings. I found that it is easier to sit and talk about the differing opinions and views, than to try and take back something said in anger. I am no expert at this, just my thoughts on the subject. Bravo to both of you for making it work, hope you have many more years of sharing your lives.

Rawgi commented on the blog post, Why My Mother's a Genius!

You are right , it is so easy to get overwhelmed by trying to do too much at one time. Then again it is an art to prioritize what has to be first and in what order. Moms have the job of managing quite a few things and we are here now and in one piece, so they did a good job of making sure we didn't do too many stupid things, ( like finger in the light socket or fork in the wall plug ). Mom can make everything all right with a hug, or give a look that will cut you like a laser if your acting up. Its probably best to go with their advice, if you know whats good for you, LOL.

You know I always enjoy your blogs and writing, and I'm not afraid to poke my nose in and give my view. Love your Saturday Musings and your blogs on Domains. I'll be keeping a watch for the next book.

Your writing is really good in my opinion. If it takes a bit more time to finish it will be well worth the wait. With all the flying around the world and speaking engagements, I'm surprised you have any free time at all. Busy man you are. I used to wish there were more hours in the day or for a clone of me that I could trust to do things as I would. Ha ha, no such luck on either.

Thanks. I still do a bit of work on the side, but only let go by word of mouth. I don't want to get full time again, maybe try thermal imagining for home inspections, because I stay current on Building Codes and that is popular here for home investors and buyers. Nothing like the Domain world, too fast paced for me. you seem to be on top of your game though and do a good job of keeping networked. I find it very interesting to follow your work.

I see your point in that you have to entice the new ones with something. Just like people if you offer the latest flashy thing, they will flock, ( ha ha ), to your site. But then comes the chore of getting repeat business and retaining the customer base. If it catches you can be overwhelmed, if it doesn't, your back to square one. Then again, you might just have some "Dirty Birds". I know too many puns, lol.

Thank you Michael. That is reassuring and you will definitely hear from me again.

    Rawgi/Richard

PS I chose the name Rawgi for a time in my life when I was drafted for the Vietnam war, but they were evacuating Nam at that time and I was reclassified 1H or one holding, and never was called to go. The name Raw GI stuck in my head and I use it to remind me of that time and how lucky I was. just a little FYI

I would add that the family unit has degraded so much these days , that reading how you and your family go about daily life seems unique. Everyone is so wrapped in the latest this and that, that they don't know what is going on in each other's life. That is where the evening meal gathering is key to getting updates on your partner's day and see how the kids are doing. Spending time/making time to do things as a family is falling by the wayside as our lives become busier each day.

I apologize for always seeming windy with long drawn out explanations of my thoughts. I read and grasp the information your blogs as I follow them all. Now putting those things to words are my stumbling block. I can fix most anything and am educated and experienced in many fields, but writer I am not. Does that make sense?

Our world is changing, our youth becoming internet dependent. I think you are showing good family base skills by setting the dinner time as a text/phone free time. I feel like we have become so absorbed in the new technology, we are losing sight of each other and the interpersonal skills each person really needs in order to become any kind of caring, loving individual. Otherwise , as we are seeing in our young people , they are becoming cardboard, shiny and smart sounding on the outside, but empty of any real compassion, or understanding of others on the inside. Its all good to have the latest technology and share stuff with friends, but when that becomes your whole focus in life, or the definition of who you are, you are going to have a shallow life with friends you couldn't count on if you needed help. I like meeting new people because each one has something I can learn from them. It may be something really simple or small, but it is something particular to the person. That it is why its so cool we are all so different. One day I heard about this game FireFall from a friend, I tried it found some new friends, Whizzbang and his bunch, and I have learned so much following you, that I could very easily missed had I not been trying new stuff and being open to watching and learning. Heck I'm going to hit 64 this year and still look forward to learning and finding new people to meet. All this technology and I can remember when the phone was attached to the wall or a cord, and it was a privilege to get to use it after homework was done and only for a few minutes. you are right Michael, this new generation has to find that these new communication devices are just tools and not the focus of who you are.

Rawgi commented on the blog post, Saturday Musings - Innovate or Die

All the talk about innovation and virtual Reality reminds me of my Philosophy class in college. I still find myself thinking about the brain in a jar theory and how we really don't know anything for sure. It will be interesting to see how VR and increasingly more intelligent AI will affect the Domain industry and the rest of our world. It sounds like you see no limit to the opportunities in the near future. I would think as more businesses drop the brick & mortar stores because they do better online, that it would open the market even further and make demand grow substantially. A win/win for everyone but the employees who would have to find another way to support themselves when those businesses cut their work force. But that is the way the world works.
