In my last post I wrote about “domainer scumbags” (obviously not good domainers) and thought that I’d follow-up with a clear example of these domaining polluters. I would first like to thank the people that have commented on the previous article…..in particular the one that suggested that domainerscumbag.com was available.

smokestackI recently received the following email forwarded on from a good client at ParkLogic that clearly outlines the sender is a scumbag:

1.    Is paying to “adopt” another person’s identity.
2.    Is willing to pay substantial amounts of money for the accounts.
3.    Claims to be “professional” domainers!

I’ve copied and pasted the email (including all the grammatical/typos) other than the removal of the name so that I wouldn’t provide them with any free publicity!

XXXXXXXXXXX

For all those companies that aren't listed.....don't worry I have been reassured that there are other emails with your names on it as well.

The reason why this scumbag is trying to buy an account is because they’ve burned their own reputation and will be denied access by every reputable parking company in the world. What I find horrifying is that there is a business model that drives this that needs to be stamped out. It goes like this……buy account from untainted as yet scumbag or incredibly naïve domainer, add domains to account, pump garbage traffic to domains (normally towards the end of the month), collect payment as long as possible. Repeat the above steps.

I will state it VERY CLEARLY here – this type of activity is THEFT! This person is stealing from advertisers that ultimately support this industry and DIRECTLY from good domainers pockets. As the good traffic gets washed through with the bad traffic advertisers will and do exit paying for domain traffic which drives prices down. These scumbags are hurting us all and need to be ejected from the industry!

I just want to let all scumbags know that there is growing indignation in the industry that we (the good guys) are sick to death of your activities. If I was to be so bold as to speak on behalf of “the people” of this industry – “go away and never come back!”…..in the meantime, I’m hatching a solution that may make it hell for the likes of you.

Noobs need an education about this
written by Samit Madan, July 26, 2011
As a Team Leader at NamePros.com my mandate was pretty clear, we summarily banned anyone trying to buy an account.

People who sold parking accounts fell into these categories:
1. Scumbags - want to make money at any cost.
2. Noobs - didn't know why the person was willing to pay $xxx for that hand reg as long as the parking account was included.
3. Clueless - Didn't think anything of including a parking account with most bulk sales, thought it was the done thing.

Types 2 & 3 far outweighed Type 1 and were dealt with accordingly. Think people need to be educated why it's wrong to buy and sell accounts, once they realise 95% won't do it.

Really good points that you raised Samit.
There is a new generation of domain owners that are legitimate but quite naive that need to be educated.

Could you "scam" the scammer? Collect the funds then let your parking company know you just sold the account.

As a parking company could you put bait accounts out there to draw them in?
