There was a great discussion in one of the threads on NamePros that I felt almost compelled to join in. It was whether domain monetization is dead or not. My reply was essentially, no it’s not; it’s just changed.
What I find surprising is the number of domain investors that expect a different outcome by doing exactly the same thing. I hate to rain on your parade, but domain parking has moved on and become domain monetization. What’s the difference you may ask?
Domain monetization is ensuring that your valuable domain traffic is being competitively bid upon by the many, many global advertising networks…..not just one. Improvements in technology to access a multiplicity of advertising networks is a natural progression of a great industry.
The stats that I produce and comment upon each week are an indication of just how healthy and vibrant domain monetization is. No it’s not dead and as today’s stats testify, it’s alive and well.
