Domain Industry Update - 25 Mar 2021

Numbers are all over the place.

The week saw some pretty bumpy numbers with both Google and Direct advertising networks being buffeted up and down. It will be interesting to see if this type of behaviour is going to continue in the coming weeks.

I had a great time sharing and listening to last week’s MAX.club in ClubHouse. For those of you that were unaware, I’m now running a weekly 1-hour session on “Entrepreneurship and Life”. As an interim measure you can go to MAX.club to sign-up to the club or MG.club and go to this week’s session details.

This week is title “The Entrepreneur’s Hope” and in this we will be looking at what drives entrepreneurs to push through adversity, work crazy hours and give so much for their dream.

Industry Update - 19 Mar 2021

Great numbers for a great week!

This past week I decided to acquire a couple of great domains…..and they are both new gTLDs. Yes, you read the correctly, I’ve has finally gone rogue and bought a couple of awesome premium domains. So what are they?

Both of the domains I purchased are .CLUBs. I’ve actually always been a fan of .CLUB and over the years I’ve secured a few great ones. This time I grabbed MG.club and MAX.club. I plan on using both of these domains for myself. The first one, MG is my initials (Michael Gilmour) and the second is for a ClubHouse I’ve setup which is all about MAXimising your business and life.

I’ve now setup a clubroom and each week I will be hosting an event that will discuss topics such as, “Life Principles”, “How to hire good people”, “Balancing Business and Life” etc.

Topic this week: “Dealing with Disasters”
Time: 4pm USA Eastern
Clubhouse: MAX.club (search for the club in ClubHouse)

In this “Conversations” segment I had the privilege of speaking with Arif Sengoren who has been brokering domain names for over a decade. Who first started with Nokta domains moved onto Uniregistry and has recently branched out in setting up his own company, Secret Brokerage.

I’m sure that you’re going to really enjoy hearing from a domain broker that has methodically sold millions of dollars’ worth of domains over the years. As well as getting an insight into his background he shares extensively about what he is doing with his new venture.

Industry Update - 11 Mar 2021

Advertisers roar back into the market.

What a difference a week can make to the statistics pouring across the Internet. This week we saw a sharp rebound in the Google and more in particular the Direct Advertising network numbers. If you haven’t looked at one of my weekly videos before then this is the one to check out.

As well as the RPM and normalized RPM number pulling around a lot of other great things have been taking place. I recently uploaded a new lesson on MasterClass Lessons (MCL.club) that digs deep into Traffic Quality and why is it that some domains are better than others. If you haven’t done the series on domain monetization then I would encourage you to do so….after all, it’s free!

I should also mention that I am starting a club on ClubHouse….really couldn’t resist actually. It’s on “Entrepreneurship and Life” and will be discussing a wide range of topics that impact not just an entrepreneur’s business but all aspects of their life. Nespresso - Customer Disaster Recovery

Nespress did an awesome job.

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago I had a problem with the Nespresso customer service….well, actually a disaster. What’s happened since then you may ask? A lesson by no one less than the CEO of Nespresso Oceania in turning a bad customer experience into an outstanding one.

I’ve always loved Nespresso coffees. They taste great, are quick to make and bring a subtle sense of joy to each day. This video is about how Nespresso turned a poor customer service experience into an amazing one. I then share a few thoughts on why I love my Nespresso coffees…..why not, they did an incredible job.

For those of you that are wondering, no, I did not get paid to do this video, write this blog and send it out to the thousands of readers and followers. I just like sharing about my passion for Nespresso coffees…!
